Gary J. Zonfrilli

Gary J. Zonfrilli, 65, Altoona, passed away peacefully on Friday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Donald and Evelyn (Thomas) Zonfrilli. He married Roe Kukenberger.

Gary is survived by his loving wife; a daughter, Jennifer Zonfrilli of Altoona; a stepson, James (Jeanette) Chappell of Wilkes-Barre; a stepdaughter, Melissa (Brad) Eaton of Frankfort, Ky.; a grandson, Daniel, with whom he enjoyed spending time; six granddaughters: Jasmine, Emilie, Olivia, Gracie, Meagan and Alana; a brother, Donald Zonfrilli (Carole); a sister, Donna Jean; a special sister-in-law, Bonnie Blair; a niece, Susan Boston; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins; many close friends; and his loving dog companion, Chloe, who will forever miss him.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Lloyd.

Gary was a 1971 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He retired from as a machinist Norfolk Southern.

He enjoyed hunting with his friend, Paul Glunt, riding his motorcycle, cooking and spending time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he also enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Yankees. He was a member of various clubs and organizations, including Burgi’s Lowlife Riders, Bikers for Barkers and Bri’s Rock and Ride.

Gary always had a smile on his face, and he was a friend to everyone that he met. He will be sadly missed by many and will always be remembered.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Altoona, the Rev. Brian Saylor officiating. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
