Louis A. “Lou” Bimatre, 64, Altoona, passed away Saturday at his residence.

He was born in Altoona, son of Louis Sr. and Ida (Robinson) Bimatre. On Nov. 14, 2009, he married Deborah Hoover.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Danyelle Wolfinger; numerous stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Vasel.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tori; and a brother, James Vasel.

Lou was a 1971 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a specialist with the 82nd Airborne during the Vietnam War. He was the owner of Lou’s Tackle Box, and he attended Fairview United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Santella Funeral Home, Altoona. A funeral service will be held immediately after at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at Grandview Cemetery.
