Donald D. “Dan” Raichle, 66, Duncansville, passed away unexpectedly Monday at UPMC Altoona.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late Sheldon and Mary Ann (Cukrzynski) Raichle. On Dec. 20, 1975, he married Janet L. Cawthern, who preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 2013.

Surviving are three daughters: Rachel M. (Jason) Glasgow of Altoona, Kathy M. (Bob) Brua of Newry and Danielle D. Raichle (fiance, Keith Leader) of Altoona; five grandchildren: Jason, Grace and Alex Glasgow, Jacob and Emma Brua; a great-grandchild, Addison Glasgow; four brothers: William, Randy and Robert Raichle, all of Oklahoma, and Shelley Raichle of Altoona; and two sisters: Susan Roebuck of Altoona and Michelle Criss of Oklahoma.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother,

Kenneth Raichle.

Dan was a 1971 graduate of Altoona Area High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired as a machinist from Norfolk Southern.

He enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, fishing and listening to music.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2019, at E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home Inc., 2309 Broad Ave., Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at the funeral home, Pastor George Sanders officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park.
