When did Henry pass away? I ran into him about 3 years ago in Amarillo. Henry was a super nice guy and was a god friend. I remember going to the 50YR XIT Rodeo and Reunion with him in 1986. Good Times!!

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Kingswood United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in City of Lubbock Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Henry was born Sept. 29, 1969, in Lubbock. Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend left us June 5, 2008, to be with the Lord.

While Henry leaves no biological children, he leaves a legacy of love for any and all children who came into his life. Henry was employed for 16 years with Texas Department of Criminal Justice and retired as a sergeant from the Clements Unit in 2005. He was a selfless friend and a true servant leader. He will be missed for the rest of our time here, but we rest in the knowledge that he is in the presence of his Lord. We are secure in the fact that we will see him again. In honor of Henry, we pray God's peace for you and yours, and that you will find that peace in the one true God of love.

Survivors include his parents, Johnny and Sarah Evans; a brother, Joe Fly and wife Carol; four sisters, Hanna LaFountain, Judy Cahill, Cathy Thompson and husband Edwin and Tammy Evans; six nieces; three nephews; and six great-nieces, as well as countless friends.

The family suggests memorials be to the Mission Fund, Kingswood United Methodist Church, 4801 S. Austin St., Amarillo, TX 79110; or Family Life Radio, P.O. Box 35300, Tucson, AZ 85740-5300.
