Hector Cortez

Where to begin?! A couple of fun years at Amarillo College right after graduation got me off to a good start. I finished college at UT Arlington, got my CPA and worked and lived there in Dallas/Ft.Worth from 1992 to 2006. I married my sweet wife Shawna Wood (Caprock class of 1990) in 1998. We have two kids Jake (6) and Katie (4). In 2006, we moved to Wichita, Kansas to pursue an opportunity I had with Spirit AeroSystems (we make large sections of Boeing and Airbus aircraft) as the Director of Financial Reporting. We enjoy boating, playing with our dog and spending time together as a family.

My best times were with Choir and just hanging out with friends like Shannon Horn, Jon Woodall, Chad Curley, Michelle Boyle, and many, many others. I saw the picture of me and Shelly Owens (in the Back in the Day Pic section) when I was stand-in King for Evan Tanner. What a great memory, I'll miss Evan. Trips with the tennis team were also very eventful and have to be some of the best memories of high school.
