Elizabeth Diaz died on June 4, 2000 at the age of 29.  She was survived by son, Tristan DeShawn Diaz of Amarillo; her parents, Carolina and Raymond Diaz Sr., two brothers, Raymond Diaz Jr, of Dallas and Emilio Diaz of Austin, and a sister Joann Diaz of Italy.

Elizabeth lived in Amarillo her entire life and attended Lawndale, Bowie and Caprock. She worked as a physical therapist for the Heritage Convalescent Center and was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a very loyal friend, an outstanding flutist, and an exceptional student.
