D'Ann and I were Tascosa Dan and Rebel Ann for April our Senior year (I had to look up the month in Las Memorias). She was so sweet and gracious the day Jim Fullingim took our pictures. It saddened me to learn she and so many others of our class are gone.

What a loss to the world! She was always such a loving, caring, beautiful person.

I thought she was the most beautiful and caring person in the world. I was new at the school in '69 and she acknowledged me and made me feel comfortable. D'Ann was an Earth Angel watching over those in need of something - even as simple as "Welcome, I am glad you are here". Rest In Peace, D'Ann.

I talked to D'Ann the night before her tragic car accident. We had plans to get together for another movie. We had seen Mystic River the month before... After the accident, I inherited her dog, a BEAUTIFUL champagne colored chow, named Mr. Wuz. He was the BEST dog in the world!! He was a tribute to her love and devotion. He had survived the accident which she did not. I often wondered what he knew, but could not share....Sadly, he died 14 months later. It was like losing D all over again.... Now, I picture them running through the clouds together. Maybe she had only "loaned" him to me!! He was such a good dog....and she was such a good friend.... I miss them both!!

D'Ann, you were one of the true loves of my life. It all started with you, me, Robbie and Kyle hanging out at Paramount Terrace. I called you three times the day you died and didn't know you were already gone until I got home that night and Robbie called. I was blessed with you in my life and now with you in my memories. I love you bigger than the sky, and then some.  Your mother joined you in Heaven this month in 2011.  Now it's you, your mom and dad together again.  I can say that I knew and loved all three of you with all of my heart, including Roxie.  Of course, I'm pretty sure I wet my pants the first time I met your dad, but then he stuck a pair of bar bells in mine and Kyle's hands and made us work out with him, which was a big job.  He worked out hard.  He didn't have any sons so I think he kind of took on me and Kyle.  What a great family you have.  And now you're all in the presence of our Lord, where you belong.

Now it's 2014 and the pain of your death is still fresh.  I think about you all the time and wish I just had a moment more with you.  God Bless You, D'Ann.  I love you very much.

I will always remember in the first grade at an in the room part at Coronado Elementary telling D'Ann that I thought her mother had a mustache...little did I know she, as cute as she was then, she would grow up to be such a beautiful vibrant lady...and I would embark on my life of speaking before thinking.
