Randy Gordon

Randy Craig Gordon LUBBOCK-Randy Craig Gordon passed away Aug. 12, 2014, at the age of 62. He was born Feb. 10, 1952, to parents J.H. Gordon and Norma Lee Mayfield Gordon in Abilene, TX. He was raised primarily in Lubbock and Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School in Amarillo, TX. He attended West Texas State University in Canyon, TX. Randy was in sales for most of his career and he especially enjoyed his days in the food brokerage business. He owned Gordon's of Lubbock Drycleaners and a small pecan farm in Lubbock County. In later years, he found success as a catastrophic insurance adjuster before retiring in 2011. Randy accepted Christ as Savior in 1990 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Lubbock, where he participated in the men's ministry. He spent time serving with the Texas Baptist Men's organization helping to clean up disaster areas and support those in need. He had the spiritual gift of service and often reached out to those who had nothing. Randy loved to SCUBA dive and was looking forward to a trip to the Truk Lagoon. He was a great cook, told the funniest jokes and was always the first person to sit down at the domino table. Randy is survived by his wife of 36 years, Felicia J. Holder Gordon; and his son, Lance Gordon and partner Bret League, of Plano, TX; brother, Rick Gordon and wife Trudie of Spearman, TX. He is also survived by many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Private burial services will be at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home.
