Shelly was among the most talented and creative graduates of THS from any year - her talents for drama, singing and dancing apparent even at Crockett. There was a fragility, a unique beauty about Shelly that set her apart from the rest of us, as if she could already see her dream ahead and was trying her best to get there. She was way ahead of the rest of us! Shelly was so kind, considerate, smart in her own way, and somehow almost unknowable. I was grateful to be her friend. Her death was a great loss for us all.

I had a crush on Shelley in High School.  For a graduation present I gave her a Bible with her name engraved in gold on the front.  I was so thrilled to find out that she was the Handbell Director at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church.
