Lora J. Reynolds
March 22, 1954 — October 2, 2025
Lora J. Reynolds, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Saint Stephen Church, 4600 S. Western St. with Pastor Travis Bennett officiating.
Lora was born March 22, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas to Thomas and Margie Asher. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1972 before going on to further her education. She earned her bachelor degree in Speech Therapy from West Texas State University, and went on to earn her master’s degree in Education as well as her teaching certificate from the same. She married her first husband, Mike Reynolds, and together they raised a daughter Ashlie. After Mike’s passing in 2003, Lora married Don Roudebush in 2007. They have enjoyed many happy years together.
Lora valued education and learning, having worked for the state center as a speech therapist before going to AISD as an educational diagnostician. She semi-retired in 2013, but didn’t let retirement slow her down, as she continued to work part-time. In her spare time, Lora enjoyed gardening and organizing her home. She was very tidy and could usually be found cleaning house with her favorite music playing in the background. Lora loved the holidays and enjoyed bringing her home to life with the decorations of each new holiday season. Her favorite pastime by far was being Grandma to Evan, her grandson, whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Mike Reynolds; and a brother, Tommy Asher.
Survivors include her husband, Don Roudebush; her daughter, Ashlie McNabb and husband JJ of Amarillo; two sisters, Carol Sherrer and Patsy Blewett both of Amarillo; a brother, Alan Asher and wife Laryssa of Temple, TX; and her beloved grandson, Evan McNabb.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to Saint Stephen Church at www.sscoa.net; or to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at www.afsp.org.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sweet Mom Ashlie! Lora was always one of my favorite persons in school and later in life on social media. Your mom found out that my daughters name was Ashley so of course, we had daughters to discuss! Lora loved you so much!
