Sherri Lea Braddock, 56, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Paramount Baptist Church with the Rev. David Preston officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mrs. Braddock was born Jan. 20, 1954. She was the daughter of Marion and Margie Springstube in Amarillo. She attended Tascosa High School and West Texas State University. She married Roy Braddock on Oct. 14, 1983.

To her husband, Sherri was his lifelong love, friend and confidante. To her three children, Sherri was their cheerleader in sports, their tutor/homework monitor, counselor, guide and listener, and always their best friend. To her grandson, Sherri was his Mamo, the one who read to him, sang to him, went walking with him and took him to special places. To her four sisters, Sherri was their "little red caboose." She sometimes laughed that she had five mothers, although other times she lamented that fact. Sherri taught at Boys Ranch for 19 years. She felt she was a positive influence on her students who always knew she cared about them. Sherri attended Paramount Baptist Church for 40 years. She taught Sunday school, vacation Bible school, summer TAP programs and worked in child care. Sherri's life was her family, her church and her school.

The family wishes to thank Paramount Baptist Church and Boys Ranch for their prayers, kindness and support during her illness. A special thanks is extended to her doctors and Odyssey staff for their wonderful care.

Survivors include her husband Roy; two daughters, Hollie Braddock and Megan Braddock of Amarillo; a son, Cody Braddock of Amarillo; three sisters, Beth and husband Dr. Carroll Shelton of New Braunfels, Marcia Miller and Linda Gleghorn and husband Charles of Amarillo; eight nieces; three nephews; and a grandson, Collin "Bryce" Snow of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
