Matthew Todd Walker

Beloved husband, father, and friend Matthew Todd Walker passed away suddenly on October 25th at age 67. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Walker of Ephrata, WA, children Michelle (Jake) Bang of Ephrata, WA, Ryan (Christie) Walker of Spokane, WA, Marilyn (Thad) Limb of Ephrata, WA, Megan (Russell) Higgins of Port Orchard, WA, grandchildren Marshall, David, Grace, Claire, Grant, Duncan, Edwin, Hadley, Thomas, Laurie, Calvin, Clark, and Marian, as well as his mother Helen Walker of Amarillo, TX, siblings Marie (Terry) McCormick of Amarillo, TX, Linda Ferguson of Lubbock, TX, Steve (Anna) Baker of Bluff Dale, TX, and Wade (Laurie) Walker of Amarillo, TX. He was preceded in death by his Father, Smith Matthew Walker. Matthew worked as a hospital laboratory manager in several hospitals but most recently at the Othello Community Hospital in Washington State. He received a bachelors in communication from BYU and an MBA from Phoenix University. Matthew is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served his Heavenly Father joyfully over the years. He was Bishop of the Ephrata Washington First Ward from 2005-2010 and President of the Ephrata Washington Stake from 2012-2021. Before his passing he said that it's all about the one (Matthew 18:11-13). He had a strong testimony and if he could tell you one more thing it would be to follow the brethren with love and faith. In lieu of flowers he would have loved a donation made to the Church's Missionary Fund. A funeral took place November 2nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1301 Division Ave E, Ephrata, WA 98823.

To the Matt Walker Family:

Matt was one of the most wonderful human beings I ever met. He had a great sense of humor and he was extremely talented and intelligent. We performed together in a number of musical and dance productions at Tascosa High School, West Texas State University and i n the TEXAS production at Palo Duro Canyon.

I am crushed by his loss. Life is becoming shorter and shorter and Matt's loss makes this fact even more relevant.

My love to Matt's family and close friends. He was one of the good ones and I'm certain his loss will felt by many.

Sending white light to all.
