I first met Nelson running hurdles at Houston Jr. High. He was friendly and we hit it off very quickly. I have great memories of him all through high school. Very sad to hear he is gone.

It's been close to 3 months since Nelson passed away, and I am still trying to find a way to adequately put into words the friend he was to me over the years and how much I will miss him in my life. Nelson was one of my very first friends and no matter where life took us over the years after high school, we always kept in touch. Each time we saw each other, the conversation would undoubtedly turn towards all the friends we shared over the years and the priceless unforgettable memories we both held as a result. I think that's what life is all about...
"Friendship is the culmination of shared experiences."
God Bless you my Friend. You cross my mind often and I will never forget you.

Thanks for sharing Justin. Nelson was one of those people who come into your life that make a lasting impression. For all of us who were fortunate enough to become friends with Nelson, he brought a little more joy into our world and made our lives a little better just by knowing him. He was definitely one of the good guys and he will be missed.
