Cynthia was a very loving and kind person. Who has truly been missed. Her passing was a shock we attended the same church and sung in the choir together. I see her family quite a bit. Gone Way to Soon But Never Forgotten.

MESQUITE - Cynthia Regina Mathis, 41, died Monday, Oct. 2, 2006.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church in Amarillo with Pastor V.C. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St., in Amarillo.

Miss Mathis was born Nov. 23, 1964, in Amarillo to Theola Mathis and the late Harold Mathis. She graduated from Tascosa High School, Amarillo College and West Texas A&M University with a master's degree in business. She worked at the Bureau of Reclamation in Amarillo until 1989, when she took a job with the FDIC in the Dallas area and settled later in Mesquite.

She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, C.W. Wallace, pastor. Cynthia loved her church and helped work on many projects to help those in need. She was loved by family and many dear friends. She never met anyone who wasn't destined to become an endeared friend.

Survivors include her mother of Amarillo; three sisters, Pauline Mathis, Gala Mathis and Caroll Mathis, all of Amarillo; a brother, Harold J. Mathis of Amarillo; two nieces, Raven and Jasmine Mathis, both of Amarillo; a god niece, Dashawn Evans of Amarillo; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
