Michael Nunnelley

Michael James Nunnelley, 29, died Sunday, July 3, near his home in Carlton, Washington as the result of an automobile accident.
 
Mike was born October 14, 1947 in American Falls, the son of James H. and Lois Thornhill Nunnelley. He was raised and received his schooling in the American Falls area. He graduated with the class of 1965.
 
Mike entered the army in 1966, first being stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, later being sent to Viet Nam. He was released from the army in 1969 and returned to American Falls for a time. He took various college courses.
 
At the time of his death, he was the assistant golf pro at the Riverwood Golf Club in Dundee, Oregon. In the evenings he was in charge of the club’s buffet and bar.
 
He liked to fish.
 
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Mr. And Mrs. William Herr, Boise; one sister Michele Nunnelley, Boise; paternal grandmother Mrs. Amy Nunnelley, and maternal grandmother Mrs. Gertrude Thornhill both of American Falls.
 
Services will be conducted Thursday, June 7, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, American Falls with the Rev. Robert A. Ledden officiating.
 
There will be military graveside rites at Fallsview Cemetary. Davis Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
 
Friends may call Wednesday at Davis Mortuary from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. then Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
 
Casket bearers will be Larry England, Lynn England, Jeff England, Boyd Van Horn, Hubert Van Horn and Merritt Thornhill.
 
Organist will be Marjorie Glascock and soloist will be Robert Schreiber. Songs will be “Lord’s Prayer” and “Just a closer walk with Thee”.
