Gordon Vollmer - Class Of 1965

The following was taken from the Power County Press Thursday August 29, 1963.

Gordon Roy Vollmer, age 16, American Falls, Idaho, died instantly in a car-motor cycle accident, August 26, 1963.  He was born in American Falls May 24, 1947 to George and Lucea Eggers Vollmer.  He has lived here all of his life, and was a junior at American Falls High School.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and the High School Rodeo Assn.  He rode in Blackfoot, McCammon, St. Anthony, Malad and American Falls.  For the past year Gordon has worked for Earl Charles at the Texaco Station.

Survivors are: His parents; one brother, Richard, age 19, American Falls; five sisters, Betty Sturdevant and Carla Singleton, Pocatello, Idaho; Marion Vollmer, Twin Falls, Idaho; Linda and Katheryn American Falls; grandmother Mrs. Merle Eggers, American Falls.

Funeral services will be held today (Thursday), August 29, 1963, at 2:00 p.m. from the Methodist Church, with Rev. Edmond B. Stanton officiating.  Burial will be in Fallsview Cemetery, under the direction of Davis Mortuary.

Casket bearers are: Steve Campbell, Russell Hawes, Donald Carlson, Jim Woodworth, Steve Benson and Gene Porath.  

Flower Girls are: Myrna Quinn, Marie Hayes, Maxine Schritter, Dayna Kranzler, Carol Liese and Artha Lee Vollweiler.    

 Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
