Jerry was high energy and always up for fun and a party. He goy crazy on occasion and it took 3 or 4 friends to keep him out of trouble and hold him back. He would fight anyone and everyone.
He was a riot in PE class and loved to prank coach McCadden who was not known for his jovial love of pranks. Jerry always paid for his tricks and he and McCadden had a running battle. I would have to say McCadden ultimately won!
I got re-acquainted with Jerry after moving back to AF in the spring of '86. Jerry lived pretty hard at times, and was nicknamed "Animal". Ron is right--Jerry would fight at the drop of a hat, but on the other hand, he was always willing to help someone out.
Jerry died from cancer March 30, 2001. He was steelheading up past North Fork with his brother James, son Tony, and Rock Roy at the time of his death. As I understand it, they had a good weekend fishing, so he went out of this world doing something he loved to do.
He's survived by Beth (Sawyer) Annen, son Tony and daughter Ashley.
