The Rev. Steven Mark Anderson, of Chesapeake, Va., formerly of Ames, died Nov. 5, 1993 in Chesapeake, VA. He was born in Cedar Rapids to Lloyd and Kathy (McKibben) Anderson.  He moved to Ames in 1965.  He graduated from Ames High School in 1981 and from Luther College in Decorah in 1985.  He married Renee Soike on September 6, 1986, at Washington, and graduated from the Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, with a master's degree in divinity in 1989.  He was ordained in May 1989 at Ames, and took a position as pastor at the Apostle's Lutheran Church, Chesapeake.  He was chairman of the Virginia Synod Youth Committee and was newly elected to the Virginia Synod Council.

He is survived by his wife, Renee of Chesapeake; his parents, Lloyd and Kathy Anderson of Ames; two brothers, Scott of Cedar Falls, and Stuart of Des Moines; and his maternal grandfather, Wendall McKibben of Dunedin, Fl.
