Todd Orlo Drennan died unexpectedly at his home in Ames, Iowa on June 14, 2022, at the age of 59.

Todd was born in Manchester, Iowa on September 17, 1962. He was the son of Galen and Linda (Owens) Drennan. The Drennan family moved from Manchester, Iowa to Ames, Iowa in 1964.

Todd attended Ames Public Schools, grades K-12, and graduated from Ames High School in 1981 He briefly attended Northwest Missouri State University but soon decided to start working as an electrician’s helper. After many night classes and required seminars, he attained his goal of becoming a licensed electrician in Minnesota. Todd had his own electrical business named “Orlo Electrical Co” for several years. He spent nearly all of his professional career in Minnesota.

At age 7, he wanted to join his brother Galen II on the Ames YMCA Swim Team. He became a very accomplished “Age Group Swimmer” for both the Ames YMCA and the Ames Community Swim Club winning several championship ribbons, medals, and trophies and was named the “Iowa AAU Outstanding Boy Swimmer for the 8 and Under” age group.

He tried to live alone with that handicap but eventually was enticed to move back home with his parents in 2017. He became completely immobile and was confined to his electric scooter for moving around from place to place. He seldom complained of the pain that he was obviously feeling and he enjoyed being outside watching the birds, wild animals that come by and the many dog-walkers and neighbors that come by.
