Mark Konek, 19, son of Bernard J. and Mary C. Konek, died July 7, 1982, at his home in Ames.

Mark Konek was born May 1, 1963, in Angola, Indiana, to Bernard J. and Mary C. (Pawlak) Konek.  The family moved to Ames in 1971 from Spring Valley, IL.  He graduated in 1981 from Ames High School where he had been a member of football, wrestling and baseball teams.  He would have been a sophomore at Iowa State University this fall.

Survivors include his parents; a brother, Kurt, Ames; a sister Amy, Ames; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard J. Konek Se., and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pawlak, all of Spring Valley, IL.
