John W. Resetarits

Resetarits, John William. Born March 7, 1948 in Buffalo, NY to John Anthony and Olive Payne Resetarits, survived by his wife of 49 years, Christianne (nee Uhl), and his five children: John Matthias (Laura), Jean Margaret Opitz, Julie Marie Ward, Jocelyn Marie Reynolds (Samson), and James Michael, and his six loving grandchildren, died suddenly on Friday, September 11, 2020.  He was retired for many years from business management in health care and parish work.  He was an enthusiastic volunteer for many organizations including Junior Zoologists, Mt. Lookout Civic Club where he was named Citizen of the Year in 1993, a Day in Eden, St. Vincent de Paul, and Knights of Columbus Salve Regina chapter.  He was always first to grill burgers or fry fish and to setup and break down chairs.  He volunteered at many of the parish’s events such as Junefest, and he worked backstage for the Hits & Misses shows, but refused to appear in front of the curtain except for a short bow.  He was deeply devoted to his family.  Although he was born in Buffalo, he found his true home in Mt. Lookout.  Visitation will be at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 5-8 PM (Masks and social distancing required). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lord Christ the King Catholic Church on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Vincent de Paul would be appreciated.
