"Jeffrey Paul Borer, 54 years of age, and a resident of Amherst Township, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a sudden illness.

A lifetime resident of Amherst, Jeff was born October 30, 1959. He was a graduate of Marion L. Steele in Amherst and Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin. Jeff was working towards his Bachelors Degree in Alternative Energy at Bowling Green University through the University Partnership with Lorain County Community College.

He was employed at Ford Motor Corporation in Avon for seventeen years. He was also employed at J&M Interiors in Sheffield for four years as a installer. Jeff enjoyed working and being active. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. Jeff loved working on and restoring motorcycles. He owned Penton and KTM motorcycles as well as other motorcycles. Jeff was a member of Penton Owners Group, BMW Vintage Motorcycle Club and AMA Association. He was a Boy Scout Leader for his son's troop and he had personally received the Star and Life Awards. He loved keeping and caring for his chickens. His favorite holiday was Halloween and loved celebrating it with his friends and family. Jeff had a love for helping others and had a heart for charity.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-eight years Nancy Marie Borer (nee: Avalos); his sons Zachary and Paul Borer; his daughter Alyssa Borer all at home; his parents Cornelius and Joan Borer (nee: Hawley) of Amherst Township; his brothers John (Patricia) Borer of South Amherst, Joseph (Debra) Borer of East Aurora, New York.

To The Borer Family,  So sorry to hear of the passing of Jeff.  We worked together

at the Ford PLant.  I will always remember how happy he was at work and always

smiling.  God Bless you all and Rest in Peace Jeff.  Amy Jaynes-Brown
