Comments:

My experiences at ACS from 1979-1992 remain a special part of my life. Life in Jordan was comfortable and easy. Friends that were made there remain my good friends today. I feel so lucky to have visited that part of the world many times since we returned to N.Y. It has been wonderful to spend time with friends there. The proximity of Jordan to so many countries made travel so easy and NESA conferences took me to places I would never have seen.
We returned to N.Y. in 1992 and I resumed my career as library media specialist with the N.Y.C. Dept of Education. I was head librarian at one of the oldest high schools in America, Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. It was challenging to work in this inner city school. Most students were from Haiti and other Caribbean islands. I learned so much from them and I hope they benefited from what I had to share with them. I retired in 2004.
I enjoy attending a creative writing course and have had a few of my stories published in a union publication. I also go several times a week to attend aqua aerobics classes. I try keeping up with some of the ACS colleagues who have remained among my good friends. My husband, Adel, and I enjoy trips to different parts of the world. Last January we were in South America on a cruise. As old as we are, we are still learning.

Looking forward to seeing old friends at the reunion.

School Story:

I remember one year when Mr. Krajczar went to the states to recruit, I shared leadership of ACS with a colleague. The bus drivers had some complaints which they thought we could resolve while the superintendent was away. They didn't understand why we couldn't change things for them.
My position as Librarian was such a rewarding time. Several years after arriving at ACS the Board of directors decided we would have a high school. My job was to establish a small library suitable for students grades 9-12. It was a challenge which I enjoyed fulfilling.
I headed up ACS International Festivals and had some funny experiences trying to convince folks out in the community to join with us. Some of the ambassadors insisted that I meet with them, not my committee helpers. It was an awesome undertaking to put this wonderful event together and host about 2000 visitors on International Day. It was so funny to see the Royal Jordanian Marching Band members fill our small library with their instruments the morning of the festival.
