Darrell was one of the special people amongst us all.  He was treated with dignity and a sense of being one of the gang.  God Bless him and his family and to all that treated him like a Comanche.  Wendell Kelly

From David Du Chene,

This memory has been a part of my life ever since, High School Track and Field.  To me Darrall McCully posed a heart of a Lion, one of bravery, courage, and determination.  At so many compassion the distance events would come towards the end of the meet and I can clearly see Darrell laboring to finish the race after so much time went by since the other competitors finished. I can remember a few people clapping for him as he crossed the finish line.  His performance would always stick out in my memory and my heart would go out to him thinking would he always have to finish last.

Well that was not to be as one glorious day I had the privilege of watching Darrell McCully come in first place, and for me marked the most spectacular victory I have ever watched. not because of the physical performance but because of that man's journey to experience what true victory taste like.

Darrell I pray your heart and soul are soring in the heavens

Great tribute David!

I also have memories of someone who put out more effort than the rest of us and wasn't afraid to say hello to all around him. Darrell broke the social barriers because he was unique.

Rest easy Darrell, you are in a beautiful place!
