When Terri stepped into a room, she brough life, light and happiness!  She will be missed!  Sad she passed so young!  May her daughter and family find comfort in all the good memories shared.

Terri Sue Sloma

Feb 12, 1963 - May 3, 2020

Terri Sue Sloma, 57, formerly of Flower Mound, Texas passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at her home in Lake Kiowa, Texas, with her family at her side. Terri was born February 12, 1963 in Santa Ana, California to Bernard and Victoria Osier.

In December 2018 Terri began her courageous fight against metastatic breast cancer. Terri’s positive attitude and determination, combined with the continual support of her family and friends kept her strong throughout the battle. She was always positive, selfless and caring, concerned more about others than she was about her own situation.

Terri graduated from Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills, California and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Long Beach State. Terri began her career as a Flight Attendant at American Airlines based out of Los Angeles, later transferring to Dallas. Over her 33 year career with American Airlines, she received numerous awards and hundreds of “thank you” cards from passengers. She loved her job, her amazing coworkers, traveling the country and the world, and she worked hard to ensure that her passengers enjoyed their flights. After she was diagnosed, she remained determined to return to health in order to continue her illustrious career.

Terri was also very active in the Flower Mound community. Terri was the proud mom to Jennifer – a beautiful dancer, and to Ryan – a tenacious baseball player. Terri served on various booster clubs and spent many years in the PTA, holding various positions, including President. She used her creativity and never-ending energy to plan special school events, making each occasion perfect for everyone. From Bluebonnet Elementary School classroom parties to Flower Mound High School Teacher Appreciation Week, Terri was involved to make sure everyone felt special.

Her two children, Jennifer and Ryan, were her pride and joy. If Terri was not working or running errands around Flower Mound, she was watching a dance routine at an auditorium or cheering in the stands at a baseball field. She would arrange her flight schedule so that she never missed a recital or game. She was their biggest fan. Once the kids got older, Terri found time for more fun. She loved bingo and other games of chance, and she was always a lucky winner!

Terri is survived by her mother, Victoria Osier; siblings Cindy Gunter married to Geoff, and Michael Osier married to Monica; children Jennifer Logan and Ryan Sloma; many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her father Bernard Osier.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Flower Mound Family Funeral Home in Flower Mound, Texas.

Words cannot express the gratitude and appreciation for her friends and family who cheered her on during this fight, and the wonderful Wings Association for their continued support.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations to be made to the Wings Association at https://www.wingsfoundation.com in memory of Terri Sloma.

Flight attendants don’t die, they just fly higher.
