Rodney Yarrington, 57, died at home on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, surrounded by his family,
following a courageous battle with cancer. Rod is survived by five children; two brothers; a special friend and caregiver, Emma Hartwig; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Francis Yarrington; and his parents.

Rodney Lane Yarrington was born March 25, 1957, the son of James and Wanda Wrigley Yarrington. He was a graduate of the Anamosa Community Schools and Kirkwood Community College. Rod was a master of martial arts, teaching and touching the lives of many. Rod worked as a scrap metal buyer and dealer. He also served as a police officer in Cascade.

A potluck was held on Sunday, Aug. 31, at the Boy Scout Lodge, Wapsipinicon State Park, Anamosa.
