Frederic Alan Dalrymple, 62, of Indianola, IA, passed away on August 21, 2011.

Fred was born January 10, 1949 in Melrose, MA.  Afer graduating from Andover High School in Andover, MA, Fred joined the US Marines and was recruited to Vietnam.  After completing his service of 6 1/2 years, Fred attended college at North Adams State College in MA.  For the past 30+ years, Fred has worked in the IT industry both in the New England Area and Iowa.  Fred was currently an employee of Wells Fargo Mortgage.

Fred enjoyed his family, golf, problem-solving, playing Wii, living in Iowa, and mowing his lawn.  Fred will be remembered for his wonderful ability to inject humor into difficult situations.

Fred is survived by his wife Renee (Woodward) Dalrymple; his children, Dr. Christine (Matt Dunbrack) Dalrymple of Pelham, NH,  Dr. Nichole Rinehart of Indianaola, IA, Michelle Dalrymple of Cumberland, RI, Logan (Missy) Rinehart of Pleasant Hill, IA; nephew Jason Dalrymple (Amy Berg) of Minneapolis, MN; niece Amanda (Jim) Paragios of Ipswich, MA; and his grandchlildren Connor Dunbrack, Christopher, Alex, and Nicholas Herrick, and Jaxon Rinehart.  Fred is also survived by his brother Bill (Roberta) Dalrymple of Niantic, CT; his half-sisters Patraicia Murphy, Jean Hugadorn, Robert Topping, and Susan Wood; and his favorite mother-in-law, Carolyn Woodward of Moravia, IA.

Fred was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents Frederic Dalrymple and Betty Jean Waid, and his brother Richard Dalrymple.
