WAKEFIELD, N.H. — Diane E. (Cannon ) Champy, 62, formerly of Long Ridge Road in Wakefield, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at Riverside Rest Home in Dover, N.H.

Born April 24, 1949, in Lawrence, the daughter of Gordon B. and Barbara A. (Carley) Cannon, she resided in Wakefield for 22 years, having come from Newton, N.H. Diane graduated from UNH with her bachelor's degree in animal science; she also received her paralegal degree and her nursing degree. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara A. Cannon of Loudon, N.H.; her son, David Champy, II and his wife Laurie of Milton, N.H.; a daughter, Tammy A. Hatch of Plaistow, N.H.; five grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Calabrese of Wolfeboro, N.H.; also several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her caretaker and best friend who was there by her side, Wayne and his wife, Teauila Travassis.

Arrangements: there are no calling hours; family and friends are welcome to a memorial service on thursday, sept. 15, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central st., Farmington, N.H., with Pastor bob Walsh of Nute's ridge bible Chapel, officiating. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the stratham SPCA. to express condolences, please visit: www.peasleefuneralhome.com.
