Methuen, MA. – Brian R. Gilman, 63 died Sunday September 25, 2011 surrounded by family.
Brian was born March 13, 1948 in Methuen MA, the son of the late Ralph P. and Irene J. (Bernard) Gilman. He lived in Atkinson, NH for 23 years before moving back to Methuen in 2002. Brian was a graduate of Andover High School and the Farmer School of Cookery in Boston. He was the owner of Brian’s Seafood Restaurant in Kingston, NH before retiring in 1998.
Brian was a communicant of Saint Lucy’s Church in Methuen.
Brian enjoyed traveling, and spending time in Florida with his wife and best friend of 40 years, Cheryl (Canepa) Gilman. He was a lifelong NEW ENGLAND SPORTS ENTHUSIAST and loved to walk every day. Brian especially loved playing sports and games with his two grandchildren whom he adored.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, his daughter Tracie A. and her husband Scott C. George of So. Attleboro, sister Sharon Collins of Haverhill, Ma., sister Sandra Leland and husband Elbridge of North Andover, Ma., sister-in-law Carol Landry of Florida, two grandchildren Nathan E. and Aaron G. George. He leaves behind a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brian was predeceased by his brother Bruce E. Gilman
A Mass of Christian burial will take place in Saint Lucys Church Friday morning at 11 o’clock with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Plaistow, NH.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen, Ma.
