
Lynda Jean Murphy, 68, of Salem, NH, died Friday July 28, 2017 at the Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. Lynda was born in Lawrence February 5, 1949 to Russell C. and Shirlie I. (Hardy) MacLeish.
Lynda attended Andover High School, earned an associate’s degree at Northern Essex Community college for medical assisting training in 1992. She was a drummer in the local band called “The Frauleins” in the late 60’s playing covers and originals around Eastern New England. She was a massive Beatles and Rascals fan. Lynda loved traveling to local and regional Beatles and 60’s rock conventions and shows. She was also a passionate animal lover. She grew up with dogs and cats all her life and spent much of her adult life rescuing animals in need.
Lynda is predeceased by her Father Russell C. MacLeish of Andover and Brother Russell N. MacLeish of Plaistow NH. She is survived by her Mother Shirlie I. MacLeish of Andover, her Son Chad R. Murphy and daughter- in- law Stephanie Murphy of Framingham, son Wess C. Murphy and daughter- in- law Kimberly E. Murphy of Haverhill, grandson Mark B. Murphy and granddaughter Alexandra T. Murphy of Framingham.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, Andover, Ma. A funeral service will be offered on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover, Ma.
