Mary E Barnes 63 "Ma Barnes". Head Nursing Unit Manager for Chelsea skilled nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Mary Ellen (Hurley) Barnes of Lynn died Sunday October 14, 2012 surrounded by her family at Kaplan House in Danvers MA.  She fought a courageous battle with cancer.

Mary was born on August 17, 1949 in Andover, MA and attended Andover High School class of 1967. Mary graduated valedictorian of her class at Chelsea Soldiers Home School of Nursing. She was a former Marshal and President of the Saugus Elks Emblem Club.  Mary is survived by her loving sons William L Archidbald Jr. of Lynn, MA and James F Barnes of Saugus. Precious Grandbabies Robert David Barnes, Meah Teresa Archibald, and James Thomas Barnes.  Sisters Kathleen Clancy of Highland Village TX, Bridget Perry of Cynthiana KY, Sheila Clark of Plaistow, NH and brother William A Hurley of Andover MA. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. She also leaves for faithful K9 companion Ginger.  Predeceased by her parents William A (Buff) Hurley and Teresa Hurley of Andover MA and her beloved husband David A Barnes Jr "Pa" of Saugus.

Services will be held Monday October 22, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cliftondale Congregational Church, 50 Essex Street, Saugus. Immediately following a celebration of Mary's life will continue in the Church Hall.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mary's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
