Ernest "Jake" Stansfield, 51, of Windham, N.H., died Monday, June 28, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a brief illness.

Mr. Stansfield was born in Methuen and grew up in Andover, where he lived until his marriage.

He was a campus police officer at Tewksbury Mental Health Hospital in Tewksbury, and was a member of the Police Association in New Hampshire.

Members of his family include his wife of 30 years, Louise Vittorioso Stansfield of Windham; father, Ernest Stansfield of Frye Circle; sisters, Carol Daley of Dracut, Virginia Stansfield of Methuen and Mary McCulley of Windham; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur R. and Anne Stansfield of Andover; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are scheduled for today, Thursday, July 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Burke Funeral Home, 390 North Main St.

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Linwood Crematory.
