Rosalinda Martinez (Walker)

You want to live there! lol

Gianna Tupelu (Williams)

I'm with you, Brandi! But even us Cali people are spread out all over the darn state. Bummer!

Steve Merrill lives about 15 miles from me. I haven't seen him or spoken to him in about 20 years, so that get together may be a little awkward. I guess I'll have to wait until the reunion to actually "reunite" with people.

So my favorite teacher memory was when Mr. Gonzalez (yes, the infamous Nookie) was running for Dona Ana County Commissioner and he recruited Jennifer Rau and I to go to the NMSU campus and pass out campaign flyers for him on the day of the election. Not only was it the longest day ever, but I think I passed out a total of 5 flyers the whole day and dumped the rest in the trash can so that when he picked me up I could say I passed them all out.....

Thank God he won the damn election....lol.

I remember being in Mrs. Creegan's class and always getting in trouble for making everyone, including her, laugh. We all used to have so much fun in the Health Occupations class.

No Brandi-YOU got to go to NMSU, I was the unlucky one who ended up in Tortugas, NM! Where the hell is that anyway? I don't think anyone there spoke English, which would obviously be the perfect place for a 17 year old blonde girl who could hardly put together a sentence in Spanish.

You also failed to metion the part about being out there from morning til waaaaay after dark with no lunch or bathroom facilities. By the time he picked us up, I was about to pass out from hunger and dehydration. He then took us to the election headquarters where he promised there would be food, but by the time we got there (at like 10pm) there was nothing left!

I loved Nookie, though. If it wasn't for his class, I may not have been able to watch La Bamba or the Milagro Bean Field War every week for the entire school year.

I remember when that happened and you were so pissed!

Brandi Jauregui

Jen, your memory is a lot more vivid than mine...I'm laughing my ass off over here. I also remember (and Liz, I'm sure you remember this) when the cheerleaders got to travel to Albuqu. for the state basketball tournament in 88. The guys had just lost a heartbreaking game to Manzano that would have taken them to the semi-finals. We got back to the hotel and all of the b-ball players got drunk as skunks. Mrs. Pena turned a blind eye to me sneaking out of my room in the middle of the night to meet up with a certain basketball player (who shall remain nameless). Shame shame shame....God bless you Mrs. Pena.

Who could that be Brandi? ;)

Hello everyone! Just want to say that I had a blast hanging out with Gary, Susie, Rosa and "Smiley" last weekend! Rosa made a comment on "how seemed like time stood still and we had just only seen each other a few days before." I think we all felt the same way. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! Oh, by the way, just want to make it clear that I wasn't stoned in those pictures (Random Encounters). Just had way too much wine to drink, which also explains the purple lips and teeth.

Just finished looking at the GHS Teachers pics......can't remember some and then there are some that no matter what you will always remember.....that darn Mr. Welch! Had it not been for Liz, and her help in English IV I would not have graduated. Thank you Liz for being such an awesome friend back then and now! Also, yes with Mrs. Creegan/Bauer the laughter of Rosa and all our class I could clearly hear her (Bauer) getting pissed off! Hey Rosa, did she ever give you any detention of some sort? Did it even matter? : ). Looking forward to seeing you all again. Have to contact Jenny Craig, Slim Fast, NutriSystem.....you all got me started!

Lidia,

She never gave me detention because secretly she loved that I made her laugh!

What's really messed up is in that year book, a bunch of those teachers are younger than we are now.

How 'bout a shout-out to Gibby!!! Trig and Calculus sucked until he got his student teacher...what was her name? Ms. Prieto?

04/14/09 01:55 PM #238

Brandi Jauregui

And Jen and Becca - we cannot forget about our sophomore year with "Papi" - Mr. Tormes. It only took us about 20 years to get the "Papi" thing....right?

04/14/09 04:07 PM #239

Jennifer Rau

I loved Papi (Mr. Tormes)! Becca and I used to call Mr. Thurman "Chuck" to his face and he answered to it. I think he was drunk most of the time anyway, so he didn't care. He spent a lot of time in his darkroom doing God knows what. He was one of my favorite teachers. And Ms. Archuleta. Do you guys remember her? Sociology? I had Vince and Mike Llanez in that class. She was grinding up on her date at our prom. She showed us Pink Floyd-The Wall in her class. That was awesome!

04/14/09 06:26 PM #240

Juliet Triste (Parra)

I member Ms. Archuleta..she was way cool..as strange as she was. If I remember correctly she was way toasted at our prom...... lol..

04/14/09 10:07 PM #241

Rosalinda Martinez (Walker)

Jen,

I had you for that class too! Remember me and Rosie used to do a magic trick before class. Ms. Archuleta's date at the prom asked me to dance and he told me "you sure don't look like a high school student!" - ok, pervert!

04/14/09 11:19 PM #242

Elizabeth Ramirez (Romero)

OK BRANDI, I looked in my 88' yearbook and found Room 126 all over it! What the heck? I didn't even know you had snuck out!!!!! I know who it was!?!?!
HI LIDIA!!!! Can't wait to see you! I had NO idea that I helped you with WelchyPoo's class?!?! I loved his class!! And Welch also liked Gary's crouch! HA! Can't wait to see all of you. All the pictures are fun to look at and I get very excited seeing who has logged in.

Jennifer Rau

Rosa-

I forgot you and Rosie were in that class too! I loved that freakin' class. I always remember the classes I had with Vince because I always sat behind him (and never got any work done) due to the alphabetical seating chart.

There were some pervs too (not just Ms. Archuleta's prom date). Remember Mr. Forrester from Gadsden Jr. High? Ugh!

04/15/09 11:50 AM #244

Brandi Jauregui

Oh, don't forget that Vince, James, and Mike Llanez are going to HELL for the way they tortured that English teacher in 8th grade....what the heck was her name? Started with an "O"?

04/15/09 11:51 AM #245

Brandi Jauregui

Liz, was it room 126? LMAO...and no Sammy, get your head out of the gutter - it wasn't Mrs. Pena being a naughty little vixen - it was me being a smitten, stupid teenager!

04/15/09 12:09 PM #246

Javier Llanez

Speaking of HOT teachers...how 'bout Ms. Carmichael at the Jr. High...I think she was an English teacher and the Cheerleader sponsor. And Mrs. Ledbetter (accounting, GHS) kicked ASS!!!! lol

04/15/09 12:28 PM #247

Ladies,

I'm surprised you guys have not mentioned the "Owen Wilson" of our time....Mr. Henderson.
