Car accident while on active duty for the Army.

Survived by: parents- Marielyn Bailey and Stephen DiNardo, sister-Nicole Gray, brother-Christopher DiNardo, grandmother-Maxine Rotteck, niece-Hailey Gray, nephew-Matthew Gray.

Matthew was a medical lab tech in the Army, with the rank of Specialist. He earned the Army Commendation Medal.

I had known Matt since kindergarten, as we got older I kinda lost touch with him. But I want to say he was a very kind, considerate, smart man. He is surely missed.

 

Obituary:
Matthew Kurtis Di Nardo, 20, of Apex, died Feb. 13, 2005, while serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Rucker, Ala.

 

Matthew Kurtis Di Nardo was born on Aug. 11, 1984, in Huntington, N.Y. At the age of 4, he moved with his family to Apex, where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Army in May 2003.

A 2002 graduate of Apex High School, Matthew's desire was to help others. Like his grandfather before him, Matthew recently completed his training as a medical laboratory specialist, attaining the rank of Specialist E-4. Stationed at Fort Rucker, Ala., he was taking college courses at night with the goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist like his father. Matthew loved music and was a huge fan of Jimi Hendrix, Green Day, the Beatles and anything punk rock. Matthew was also an avid guitar player who enjoyed playing Hendrix and Metallica.

He is survived by his father, Stephen Di Nardo; his mother, Marielyn Di Nardo; his sister, Nicole Di Nardo-Gray; his brother, Christopher Di Nardo; and his brother-in-law, Tino Gray. He is also survived by his niece and goddaughter, Hailey Di Nardo; his maternal grandmother, Maxine Rotteck; as well as other extended family members and a close-knit group of friends.

Thank you for posting that Ashly! I couldn't find any information on him over the internet. I have been looking for atleast a week or two! He was very kind.
