Robert Baker (Bobby) Slade

ROBERT BAKER SLADE  

Robert Baker Slade, 64, of McLean, VA, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016, in Arlington, VA surrounded by family. Born July 27, 1952 in Washington DC to Horace and Marguerite (Baker) Slade, he attended Washington-Lee High School and Fork Union Academy where he was recruited to play football for Virginia Tech.
 
In the early 80's, he returned to the DC area where he began a 30+ year career in the restaurant business.
He created Quincy's in Arlington, one of the first fine dining restaurants in the DC area to feature nationally
acclaimed live entertainment. He co-founded and operated Slade's American Grill, PGA Tour Grill, Maverick,
Great Falls Tavern and others.
 
His pastimes included golf with friends, supporting and attending his childrens' sporting events, dining,
reading, travel, and spending time at the family's beach home. Bob will be remembered for his creative
endeavors, competitive spirit, enthusiasm for life, and dedication to his children. He is survived by his
wife, Jeanne, daughters Audrey and Nikki, son Jack, and other family including his dear sister Sandra.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLean, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center are suggested.
