Rick Southers: I grew up with Wayne. We were neighbors, played together as kids from 9 yrs. old on up, and remained friends well into highschool. We spent time at each others homes and knew each other's families.

Just to add to the "boy we're old" thoughts we all I'm sure are feeling, I saw my first color TV show at Wayne's house. It was Star Trek and I was amazed at the different color shirts of the crew!

I was informed of his death through his brother Bernie when I was home on leave from the USAF. I have great memories of a childhood friend. Wayne just seemed to have a smile on his face all the time.

Wayne was a friend in elementary school "Arcola" He always had a really great smile.  I remember his art work in middle school.  He gave me one of his drawings it was of a black vampireman with a really kool "afro" and blood dripping from his fangs,  he was also wearing bell bottom. It was awesom.  I hated to see that he has passed away.
