Hotel Rooms

I am working on a block of rooms at the Ashland Plaza Hotel. Let me know who is interested in one.

Susan,
I have already made mine, it is under Jill Stevens. They said once you get the block room pricing I can just call back and they will change my price to match.

Everyone,
Susan needs to confirm at least 10 rooms before she can get the block rates, so if you already know for sure you are coming and staying at the Plaza hotel, then let her know so she can move forward on this.

Susan

Brent and I are going to stay on Saturday night. I will call today and make it myself. I want to see if the hotel will use their van for people staying on Friday night to drive them to our house and pick them up. We are going to see about parking at Poge School. If anyone has any contacts to help that would be great.

Karen-
Call Jolinda Kimbrell Conley (Steve Conley). She is the secretary at Poage and I'm sure will help you with the parking issue. 327-2734.

Susan,

By the time I read this you probably have everything worked out. Just in case you don't, I've worked with Ashland Plaza Hotel a lot for work related issues and thought I'd give you the contact information I have.

I do room blocks through Rachel Hensley, 606/329-0055, ext. 2206. She is super to work with.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Leesa, I just left her a message. I'll post back after speaking with her. I hope to get a block of rooms on the same floor. I pity the other guests that night!

Susan,
While you are negotiating our room rates, why don’t you see if you can get us the party suite, I mean hospitality room? It’s on the top floor and has a balcony. The biggest reason will be for smokers, they can smoke on the balcony. During the reunion they will have to go outside the hotel and be 20 feet from the building, this would give them a place to go instead. Also it’s a large room about like 2-3 regular rooms and used to have a table that seated about 10 people and several couches. Seems like it had a kitchen also. This could be a place we can all go after the party is over in the banquet room. If there isn’t enough money to cover it in our fees, I know I would be happy to help donate a little more to have it available for everyone.

Just a thought……

Jill

I have a block of 5 rooms for Friday night and 10 rooms for Saturday night at the rate of $77.00/night plus tax. It is under "Blazer Class of 1979" and is first come, first serve. I asked them to put the rooms of Jill Stevens, Donna Thompson, Brent/Karen Crawford, Larry Sennett and Garry Sennett in the block rooms so there are only a few left. More can be added if they are available. Ask to be put on the 10th floor. The Presidential Suite (they no longer have a hospitality room) has 3 rooms (1 King BR, a dining room open to a living room. It has a hot tub on the balcony. (Oh God!) It is available first come, first serve. The rate is $191.00/night. It has been put on our block and is on the 10th floor.

All hotel reservations are each classmates responsibility to reserve.

Just in case any of you have a government ID card and are planning on staying at a hotel for the reunion, you can get a rate of $60.00 a night (plus tax) at the Ashland Plaza Hotel. That is $17 bucks better than our block rate for the reunion.
