Wow, that is really nice to know that this is here. I just got a bulletin and came to check it out.

I guess I'll be first. I have quite a few things going on in my life right now that aren't so good, and a couple of you know about them, but for the most part I want to keep things private.

I would REALLY appreciate any and all the prayers I can get. With everything that has gone on in my life, I KNOW that the power of prayer is amazing!
God knows our problems and when our friends pray for us, He knows what they are meaning.

God bless each of you.

Jeana

I believe in the power of prayer. I had an episode after my second knee replacement in July. I stopped breathing due to all the drugs I was given. Luckily a doctor found me in time to bring me back to life. I guess I'll never make a good drug addict. I feel God has a new plan for me.
Being raised in Unity Baptist Church I always prayed, but now it has a new emphasis.
I work at a Catholic hospital and every meeting starts with a prayer, it is very comforting.
I pray all to make a safe journey to our reunion and back home.

Nancy.... thank you for starting this. There is so much I could say regarding this subject. Please pray for my dad. My mom went home to be with the Lord in March of'08 after 65 years of marriage. He now lives in an assisted living center there in Ashland and is doing well for an 88 year old. I was with him for 10 days in December. Please pray for strength, joy and peace for him.

I'm thankful for Christian parents and friends who were praying for me during my foolish, prodigal teen years.

The message below was written as a joke to susan in reference to the Cindy Crawford pic.... I don't know how it got here and I can't get it to go away... SOOOO... I need to pray for forgiveness for staring too long at the pic.

Susan-I've known you since 5th grade.. your reunion photo is incredible. I've been staring at it like a hungry wolf and asking for forgiveness. That beach pic is amazing.

John, you are welcome. I can assure you and the others who have requested prayer that prayers were lifted. I check this forum several times a day just to make sure I don't miss any. I only hope that others are doing the same.
You are loved....Nancy

I too am grateful for you starting this. Mel and I found out this morning that our daughter Kasey has some type of auto-immune disorder. We go tomorrow to find out more from our family doctor, then on to a specialist sometime. She is a senior in H.S. this year and graduates in June. She is the love of my life and it's hard to think she may have something really bad.

Please keep her in your prayers. With my recent surgery and upcoming radiation treatments, it has been a rough morning. Thanks so much.

John,
I hope your father is well and know that you and your family will be in my prayers. Also, it's disturbing for me to admit how much I've been looking at Wilson's pic (some of God's best work) . . . God knows that we are weak in the flesh, we will be forgiven if we should ask to be . . .!

Class of 79'ers !

Thanks for your love and prayers. I am home and almost 100% again. Can a 70 year old be 100% ?

Seriously, I do appreciate your kind words.

My wonderful mother-in-law broke her hip 3 weeks ago, and is going home from Kingsbrook on Sat., 3/21. This is about a week earlier than the therapist wanted. She and my father-in-law haven't been apart for more than a quick weekend visiting out-of-town relatives, since he was in the Navy. That was about 55 years ago! I would love prayers that she continues progressing as well as she has been. She is 73, and her name is Lona Rigsby.

Thanks for getting this started...prayer is everything.

Cindy

Please pray for the speedy recovery of my 10 week old grandson Cameron. He was admitted to KDMC today with a chest full of congestion. Tests were negative for pneumonia, RSV, and flu, that was good news. He'll be spending the night in a croup tent hooked up to an IV to administer antibiotics and a steroid to help him breathe better.

Update: Cameron came home 5/5/09. He'll be on breathing treatments and medication for a few more days for the bronchiolitis (sp?) but is doing much better. Thank you for your thoughts & prayers during his illness, they're much appreciated.

I have a great and true belief of the power of prayer. However, I have always had trouble asking for others to pray for me,as I find it so hard to be worthy of Gods love. But at this moment I and in much need of prayer. I went to the Doctor last week thinking I had a problem with my stomache. He did an EKG and found abnormalities. He sent me on to hospital for a stress test. Somehow the test was misread, so they sent me home. At my follow up with the Doctor he told me they were still seeing the abnormalities and that I had a heartack. Now have to go back for a heart cath. That I am at present a walking time bomb. This makes for a very hard time as I have only one living relative, a brother, My husband has just taken a job out of town and only get home about once a month, and my daughter graduations is next week. Just alot of stress and worry and Doctor says thats the worst think for me. Sorry this is so long and I always pray for the request on here. It was a great idea.

None of us are worthy, but Jesus Christ taught us on the "Sermon on the Mount" that those who are humble, meek, etc will inherit the "Kingdom". Acknowledging you can not go alone and asking for help is a big step to those Beatitudes I mentioned above. You can rest assured that your post will receive many prayers and I have found the bible to be true that when two or more come together and believe for something during prayer it has to come to pass, as long as it does not contradict God's laws.

Don't focus on the many hurdles to overcome, but focus on the here and now. Embrace everything in your life and reach out to help others while giving God the glory. Some of the most intense training in the military is the US Navy Seals. Those that successful complete it focus on the here and now and not on the many hurdles and pain they will endure in their future training. Those that drop on request lose the sight of the here and now and the many hurdles and pain overcome them and they never become a US Navy Seal.

One last thought, God produces miracles through his love daily and he deserves all the glory.

God Bless,
Bud Coburn
