Favorite Sports Memory Moment

I saw no one had posted since yesterday! You all must be taming your addiction! *LOL*

So, what's your favorite sports memory moment from Blazer?

Mine? Well, i've been to two state football championships that were heart crushing.

1972 AA High School Football Championship:
Tates Creek 16, Paul Blazer 7

This was in Lexington and my brother was on this team. They lost 2 games that year. Ironton in November, then this one. It was devestating.

1975 AAAA High School Football Championshp:
St. Xavier 20, Ashland Blazer 0

My sophmore year. That's the team Chuck Anderson spoke about in his profile as being the BEST football team in Ashland Tomcat history. I'm not sure how he came up with that stat other than he was on the team. ~laughs~ .

Chuck? thoughts? input? statistics to back up those words?..

Cabot? Help me out here. Laughing

Liz..that is a very tough call on who would have came out on top if those two teams would ever have had the chance to play each other...both of those teams had great athletes on both sides of the ball...seems like i remember Chuck hitting a guy so hard one time ,i swear i thought the guys helmet went 60 feet in the air...mucho mucho respect, admiration and many memories from both teams...HOWEVER...if Susan and her 1979 SIGMENT volleyball team ...led by their very BRAZEN captain... Lisa Hall Miller...can not only follow through on their challenge to play volleyball on sat. july 28 09,but also stick to their stategy of playing TOPLESS...it will far far eclipse all memorable sports moments and anything and everything that EVER took place inside the walls of Putnam Stadium...or anywhere else in Ashland for that matter...i just just hope i can be there..

~looks at this, looks at you and laughs~ Yes.. i have no doubt that the above display would be the most memorable sports moment in Ashand in or outside of Putnam Stadium.

I just have to pull the equality card and ask what the Ro guys are going to be doing for the girls?.. I mean I think it's only fair if Susan, Teresa, Lisa, and Muff go topless you guys could do the same? No?

I remember when Teresa Mannley was playing Powder Puff Football and ran the ball all the way down the field for a touchdown then began to vomit.

Ashamedly, I too recall that infamous rushing touchdown (1st ever scored by an Ashland Powder Puff team) . . . it wasn't that it was so far to run, it's just that Wheeler, Weller, Feazell & I partook in some spirits on the bus on the way to the game. I personally don't recommend sprinting 70 yrds after having split a fifth of vodka. Yuck!
I'll never forget how upset we were when we missed our game at states for volleyball because Martha didn't know the correct schedule . . . isn't that Coaching 101? Not one of my favorite sport moments!

Manley, did I play powder puff football? I remember a football game in '76, i think, where we lost by a field goal in the playoffs. It may have been a semi-final game, but at the end, Jay Shippey either hit or tackled a referee.
