Milan Coleman

Milan Coleman

1961 - 2013

Milan Douglas Coleman was born on May 8, 1961 in Ashland, KY. The son of the late Nathaniel and Ella Mae Coleman.

Milan departed this life on Monday, January 28, 2013.

Milan moved to the D.C. area with his wife Mary, in 1986. He and Mary moved to Centreville in 1996. He was currently retired but had most recently been employed by Telos Corporation and Micron Corporation as a computer technician.

Milan was blessed in life with his two beloved daughters, Kira Elizabeth and Kendra Mae. After the birth of his children his focus and love of life surrounded his children. As they grew, you could find Milan always present volunteering at their school, attending their sports games and as always, recording every concert and marching event of the Westfield HS band program. Of course after the concert a DVD would be sent to all the family to enjoy. As Kira and Kendra entered high school Milan stepped up and volunteered to chair the Minority Achievement Committee of the PTSA. His mission with the committee was to help children of our community struggling to succeed and to help them have as many educational opportunities as possible. Milan also served as a representative on several other committees helping children within the school.

Milan enjoyed life. He will be remembered for his smile and gentle nature. He had a true love of BBQ grilling, and entertaining family and friends. It was a treat to be invited to dinner at his house with the grill fired up and rolling. Milan had a love of all types of music and has passed his love of music to his children. Let us not forget his love of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and his Washington Redskins.

Milan leaves behind his wife Mary. His daughters Kira and Kendra. Milan was one of 11 children and is survived by Eloise Mock, Calvin Coleman, Christina Coleman, John Coleman all of Lexington, KY. Gilbert(Vanessa) Coleman, Jessie Coleman of Ashland, KY. He is preceded in death by his brothers Dave and James and Gene Coleman.

Your husband was always such a dear friend on the computer and to us as a classmate at Blazer. Thank you so much for sharing his information with us and I will remember him as a dear soul. God bless you and your children and family as you remember his best days with you. God love you.
