Mark Cox was Sharon’s boyfriend and has provided us with the following information:

Mark has confirmed the sad news that after several health struggles Sharon Kay Friley, the love of his life, passed away peacefully on 3/2/24. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Ruth Friley, sisters Donna Ruth and Jerri and brother Danny Friley.

A gifted singer, she entertained countless audiences all over the U.S. and abroad. Sharon loved the holidays (especially Christmas), viewing the lights in Ashland Central Park. She loved animals and championed their welfare and gave financially to their cause. Sharon always tried to encourage others and give them hope, no matter what their circumstances. Her favorite time was spent with Mark.

No funeral or memorial service is planned at this time. In Sharon’s honor and for those who wish to express sympathy please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter.
