William Hanners

William Bruce Hanners, 56, of Ashland, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.


Bruce was born Aug.17, 1960, in Ashland, a son of Lillian Thomas Hanners and the late Wilson Hanners.


In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hanners; and a sister, Linda Hensley.


He was a maintenance worker for Ashland Independent School System, a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Clarence Fields Post 76 in Ashland.
In addition to his mother, Bruce is survived by his wife, Kathy Back Hanners; a daughter, Brittany D. Hanners of Ashland; five brothers and their spouses, Wilson and Julia Hanners, George and Debbie Hanners, Donald Hanners, Eddie Hanners and Jack and Laura Hanners, all of Ashland; two sisters and their spouses, Judy Thomas and Peggy and Gene Easterling, all of Ashland; and four grandchildren.


Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, at Lazear Funeral Home Chapel in Ashland with Brother Michael Rice officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County with military rites by Ceredo-Kenova American Legion Post 93.


Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
