Mrs. Curnutte rocked! She was one of my all-time favorite teachers - great sense of humor. Also tolerant of our antics but not a push-over

I never had Louise as a teacher but she sure taught me a lot in life as I was a roomate of Liz at Morehead and then became a member of the Curnutte Clan for life. Louise died in Feb of 2006 and she died exactly how she lived. Calling all the shots on exactly how she wanted things. Given a choice of surgery or death, she chose death stating,"She had people to see and things to do in heaven". She said, "Lubaby- I'm ready to hit the road jack and never come back". She spent her last day sharing with loved ones, enjoying a Cosmo and bread pudding for lunch - said her goodbyes and went peacefully to sleep. Her Celebration of Life Memorial held later that spring in Ashland was - well fun. From the class of '72 with Steve and all his buddies all the way down - everyone had a Ms. Curnutte story.
Louise wanted her ashes scattered in a childhood place that she held dear to her heart and worked diligently to beautify in her adult life. So... late that evening 30 or so of her family and friends gathered at the spot to grant Louise her final wish. Then Steve produced his primo stash and the entire group "lit up" as a final tribute to her definite mischieviouis side. Louise, I love you and miss you. I'm trying to keep Liz under control but you never could so how could I possibly??

Anyone who checks out our new pond in Central Park while you're home, remember - "Every little breeze, whispers Louise."

Liz,

Loved your mother......great person. Never heard a harsh word about your mother. She was liked by everyone. Wish I could have seen her and talked to her before she passed. Thoughts are with you.
