Ed Kaylor

Edward A. Kaylor passed away Sunday morning, October 18, 2020 following an 8-month struggle with complications from a fall. He was 71. He was born on January 8, 1949 in Ashland, Ohio to parents Paul & Cora Eileen (Buckingham) Kaylor. After he graduated from Ashland High School with the class of 1967, he proudly served his country by joining the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Ed was honorably discharged May of 1970. Ed met Carolyn Klinksick and they married on July 27, 1974 in Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville. Over the years Ed's employment included the F.E Myers Company, Raby Hardware, Pleasant Hill Outdoor Center, and the last 10 years for MARS as groundskeeper and maintenance with the Army Corps. of Engineers. Ed enjoyed cooking, the outdoors, taking care of his lawn, maintaining his vegetable garden, and fishing. He was also a dedicated member for 46 years of the Zion Lutheran Church in Loudonville. He served on the church council, as a youth advisor, usher, and most recently as the chairperson of the church Property and Grounds. Ed served on the Loudonville Recreational Board for more than 20 years, many of those years as Chairman. He was also instrumental in the beginning of the swim team at the Loudonville Pool. He is survived by wife of 46 years Carolyn Kaylor; his children Christopher Kaylor and Alison (Isaac) Kaylor-Todd; grandchildren Jackson Kaylor, Parker Kaylor, Hudson Kaylor, Tucker Kaylor, Alyssa Todd, and Alex Todd; brother Richard (Barbara) Semple; brother-in-law Dale (Shelby) Klinksick; sister-in-law Joann (Lester) Peters; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, and infant son Erik P. Kaylor.
