Melvin Wayne Pitcock, 53, of Niota, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, at his residence. A native of Loudon and a lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Ernest Pitcock Sr. and was a former supervisor at Textron for more than 20 years.
Survivors include his loving companion of 13 years, Randal Keaton of Niota; his mother, Mary Lee Lonas Pitcock of Niota; two daughters and one son-in-law, Crystal and Kenny Patterson of Madisonville, and Carrie Pitcock of Niota; three grandchildren, Tristen Myers and Audrey and Julia Patterson; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jerrelene Brown of Niota, Wanda and Rex Dotson of Cleveland, and Sandra and Johnny Davis of Niota; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest Jr. and Joyce Pitcock of Chattanooga, Ray and Linda Pitcock of Niota, and Mike and Sherry Pitcock of Niota; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Chapel Church of the Nazarene with Reba Terry, director of The Caring Place, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Caring Place, 130 Wildwood Ave., P.O.
