Mary Percy (Hale)

MaryLouise Percy Hale, October 21, 1944 - September 18, 2022

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Menlo Park and Sonoma resident, MaryLouise Hale, age 77, on September 18th, 2022, in Petaluma, CA after a short illness. MaryLouise was born in South San Francisco, CA on October 21, 1944, to James and Margaret Percy. She lived her early years in Menlo Park and Attended Menlo-Atherton High School from 1958 to 1960. MaryLouise then moved to Southern CA for many years and later returned to the Bay Area (Sunnyvale) to be closer to family, eventually relocating to Sonoma for the remainder of her life. MaryLouise worked in the dental profession first as an assistant, then as an office manager for several dentists over many years.

MaryLouise will always be remembered with love – and smiles as we reflect on her big heart and spirit. She had a keen interest in others' lives and didn't hesitate to pose the probing, hard-hitting questions. She truly was one-of-a-kind. She was a loving Fur Mama to Pumbaa and Sherry. MaryLouise is survived by her sister, Melinda Zeledon, nephew Jeffrey Riggs (Barbara), nieces Melody White, Shelley Riggs and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her best friend since childhood, Diane Farmer of Meadow Vista, CA and also survived by the loving family of the late Owen Niemann of Sonoma: Ken Surber (Michael Luffman), Kevin Surber (Wendy), and Kris Surber (Tracee Passeggi), whose friendship and love MaryLouise cherished. MaryLouise never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
