She was a hairdresser for many years until her shoulder bothered her enough
to seek other employment.  The insurance company I was working for had an
opening & Linda became an underwriter.  We had a blast working together.  She
was married to a nice guy named Chris McGriff but was having trouble getting
pregnant.  Turned out she had a basketball sized cyst on her ovary, plus
endometriosis!  She got those taken care of & soon after she had a baby girl,
Alyssa.
One day at lunch we went to Target and when we were leaving, Linda couldn't
hold or turn her keys in the ignition.  She also said she noticed that she
never had to go to the bathroom in the morning anymore until she got to work
(from Gwinnett Co to Brookhaven)  Her doctor thought maybe she had a pinched
nerve.  She had several tests done & they found a brain tumor.  She went in
the hospital Dec 13 1994 and they said she'd be home before Christmas.  The
tumor turned out to be a "creeper" meaning it had wrapped itself around her
brain stem & the top of her spine.  After her operation she was not the same.
 She didn't talk or respond, and I could tell by looking in her eyes that she
wasn't there anymore, not the way I knew her.  They operated a second time &
still couldn't get it all out.  She got a staph infection (in ICU, can you
believe it???)  and ran a very high fever.  She died in February of 95.
