So very sorry to hear about Joanne Jones. We were such good friends in high school and, unfortunately, lost contact afterwards. I remember her fondly and will try to bring more clairity to those thoughts in the days ahead. It has been a long time. I wish her family much comfort in their remembrances.

"Jonesie" was a good friend.........smart,interested, concerned about things......... and loved a good laugh! Several years after we graduated I wound-up being in a meeting with her at the bank. We were both so surprised to realize that we wound-up working together at Trust Company Bank (SunTrust). Again, she proved herself to be smart and a very valuable asset at the bank. I am so very sorry to learn of her passing.

I remember Joanne with fondness and we were in several classes together over our high school years. I think we were both in Ms. Lynch's algebra class in 8th grade (altho I am not certain of this, as memory fades). At any rate, I didn't know her well but feel very sad that she has passed.

Joanne and I worked at BellSouth at the same time, so we ran into each other often. She always had a good word and made time to chat. I don’t think I ever saw her when wasn’t smiling. My sincerest condolences to her friends and family.

Joanne was part of Jean Holt's 4th Grade Class at Morningside. Prior to the Grady Class of 1965's 50th Reuntion, I met with Joanne at Evans Fine Foods in Decatur a couple of times to visit about Mrs Holts Class and memories of our 4th Grade Field Trip to a Cattle Auction just outside of Covington, GA. The trip also included an opportunity to actually pick cotton in a field. She made reservations for the 50th Reunion and was going to be there with Carla Sobelson, but Carla became ill and Joanne did not want to come by herself. We met again after the Reunion at Evans and I showed her photos of Jean Holt and our 4th Grade Class Photo that we made at the Reunion. We were both remembering the striped tee shirts that most of the boys wore in the 1950's and Dave Libman had worn one for the re-take at the 50th. She got a big laugh out of that and it is a good memory for me to add to the M'side and Grady memories.

Joanne was a sweetheart from day one. We were classmates at Morningside and in Sunday School. She was always kind and enthisiastic. Even though it has been many years, I willl always remember her warm smile and friendship and her wonderful family.
