Don Moore 1947 - March 15, 2021
More Details to follow. Don was one of the most helpful members of our Class and he showed how much he cared for all of us each time we had a Reunion. Don worked so hard on the 50th Reunion and was helpful in securing our location and evaluating the options (detailed comparisons) as you would expect from an Engineer! I spoke with him about a month ago and he was at home, but not feeling well. I spoke with Joyce last Thursday, and he was in the hospital.
You may want to send a card to his family:

Wow, so saddened and shocked to hear this! Don and I kept in touch off and on going to Tech basketball games - for our 20th reunion he gave me a red ball cap with a grey G on it. We bonded over shared crushes on young Grady teachers, he actually rented a Sting Ray Corvette so we could pick up Miss Willey (Flo!) at Agnes Scott one morning and drive her to Grady (she was a student-teacher) - omg the look on the other Scotties' faces when she got in - I was squeezed sideways behind them. Such an innocent time. Love to Don!

What a great guy. Always fun, funny, and helpful. We stood together at graduation, holding each other up. He helped me with some enginnering advice over the years. One of the people that always came to mind when you thought about the good old days. I'll miss you possum.

What a treasure Don has been. I'm not sure any of us appreciated and loved our Grady days more than Don. Surely, he is one of the nicest and most "willing to help" folks I have ever known. Not only can I not imagine how we will ever be able to plan and arrange another Grady Class of 1965 Reunion without him, but I shall sincerely miss his "I got this" or "I'll do it" spirit.

OMG! No reunion will ever be the same without Don's smiling face and greeting. Once I was filling up at a gas station and Don came running over out of the blue and planted a kiss on my cheek and a big hug. He asked all about me and my family even though at that time I hadn't seen him in years. That was the kind of guy he was. Always had a true interest in everyone and what he could do to help.
I hope he didn't have Covid and I hope he didn't suffer. He was too fine a person for that. May his memory be for a blessing. He will be missed.

I had the great pleasure of working with Don on our last reunion. He was the gentlest, kindest man you could imagine. He was always willing to step up and take on any extra work, making wonderful presentations and visuals to help us with our decisions. His love for Grady and our classmates was evident in everything he did for our reunions. I can’t imagine a reunion without him. I know many of us will cherish the time we got to spend with him. May he Rest In Peace and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew
