Jean Lowndes (Rozema)

Elizabeth Jean Rozema, 70, went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2015, after a life full of love and service to others. She was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, the daughter of Betty and the late Frank B. Lowndes Jr. Jean moved to Atlanta at the age of two, attended Connally Elementary school, graduated from Southwest High School, attended Mars Hill College in North Carolina and received her BA in Sociology from Baylor University, where she met her husband, of 47 years, Dr. Donald Rozema. She was active in the Sandy Springs Society, PEO, as well as numerous church ministries, community and dental organizations.Jean was a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. Her life was centered around serving the Lord, her family and her friends. Jean loved people and always always saw what was good in others. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Donald Rozema, her mother, Betty Lowndes, her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sprague and her husband, William Sprague, her grandchildren, Louie and Elizabeth Rose Sprague, her sister, Ann Curton and her husband, Eric Curton, sister-in-law, Sue Rozema and her husband, David Ellington, sister-in-law, Sandra Holcomb, brother-in-law, James Jensen and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel in Sandy Springs. A memorial service celebrating Jean's life will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015, at 11:30am at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta. Jean was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
